Suggestions for dinner around Highline Ballroom
I'm a 17 year old girl and my friends and I are attending a show at highline ballroom. I wanted to find a restaurant in the same neighborhood or at least one semi-close. The ballroom resides at 431 West 16th street, (between 9th and 10th ave). We wanted to eat somewhere trendy and cool yet inexpensive, around 10-15 dollars a person would be fantastic! Thank you so much!
Perhaps Sea Thai would be a good option. It's got the meatpacking district vibe with less of the cost. Entrees average $10 and it's only four blocks away. Have fun!

This is the best recommendation that is kinda hip and in your VERY LOW price range for cool and trendy in that area. You might be able to get tacos at the bar of Cabrito but that's not that close. Chelsea Market is not trendy and cool but close and within your price range. It's a gourmet market for the most part.

I'm an old coot, and not the best person to advise you as to what's hip, but my impression of that neighborhood is that there are many young folk being fleeced by places that pretend to be trendy and cool. What's cool is to find your own hip.
But more to the point-it's a small place, but in the Chelsea Market is a pretty decent spot that also meets the needs of veggie/vegan types called The Green Table-I'd go for the pot pie myself...

Another thought, if the weather permits-grab something to go and eat up on the High Line-it's open until 10, has clean bathrooms and is really nice...

The Green Table was all papered up when I walked past yesterday -- I didn't stop to read the sign closely but I think it said something about renovations.

I did stop to read the sign at The Green Table - "closed for innovations" - clever!
Chelsea Market is your best bet at that budget - Lobster Place, Friedmans Deli, the Thai place, the Italian market, and finish with great L'Arte de Gelato. None are open very late though.

The market officially stays open until 9pm, but it's best to go before 8:30pm.
I wonder if Corner Bistro would let them in for burgers? Technically they should, but it's a bar, so don't even try it if you think your friends will be tempted to drink.
Grey Dog is nearby for sandwiches and salads, etc.
Num Pang is a hip version of vietnamese sandwiches and there's seating upstairs. Not exactly a place to see and be seen, but the brisket sandwich is excellent and around $8. It's near Union Square, which is walkable, but not the same neighborhood.
You could also check out Cuban Sandwiches at Casa Havana on 8th Ave and 19th.
