Avalon - Stone Harbor advice?

sjeater Aug 17, 2010 01:45 PM

Sora, Jay's on Third, Fuze, Quahog's ???

Any recommendations. We've been to Quahog's and enjoyed it previously Haven't been to the other 3. Looking for a fun place for a group of 6 people that are foodies. Price isn't really important.

Anyone been to some of these places? Like or dislike them?

we have been coming to Stone Harbor every August for years. I can't say I've ever been terribly impressed with the restaurant selections. This week we've been to Sora and Quahog. We found both of them kind of underwhelming and overpriced, though the ravioli appetizer I had for my "main" at Sora was pretty good. I also wish more of the restaurants were more vegetarian friendly (other than the very veggie-friendly lunch place on 96th).

I highly recommend The Diving Horse in Avalon. It was one of the BEST meals that I've had in while. Everything was very fresh and local. I had the steamed mussels in a potato leek broth, heirloom tomato salad, barnegat scallops and the fruit crisp. All dishes were suggested by our waiter and they did not disappoint. Plus, it is a BYOB. Here is the website:
