Salting unsalted roasted nuts

I was supposed to buy salted macadamia nuts for a cookie recipe (to get that nice salty-sweet thing) and accidentally bought unsalted roasted. Most of the tips I've seen online would only work for nuts that haven't been roasted already, like spraying them with oil and then sprinkling with salt.

Is there any way to have them be salted when I chop them for the cookies? I do want that nice little hit of salt with every bite of macadamia.

I recently read a blog post that suggested soaking them in salt water and drying them out. I would do that, in a low oven or outside in the sun.

I would take them back to the store.

The only way I know you could do them is reheat them in a dry pan on low heat. The oils will come to the surface and you will be able to salt but it won't be as flavorful as the roasted, salted ones at the store.

Macadamias are so expensive. I wouldn't want to take a chance on being disappointed.
