Restaurant near Inn at Little Washington?
Hello all,
My wife and I are heading down to eat at the Inn at Little Washington for our wedding anniversary in early October. We are staying at a B&B within walking distance of the Inn, and I was wondering if anyone knew of some other great restaurants in that general area? Looking for quality food/nice experience. The price point isn't a concern, it can be cheap or expensive. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi, If you are staying at the Foster Harris House you are in for a delicious treat. Their breakfasts were the best I've ever had! We ate our first night at the Inn at Little Washington and then our second night at the Thornton River Grill

It was really yummy, and the service was stupendous. We really enjoyed it there. Have fun

We just took a similar trip. Stayed at Foster Harris house. Ate dinner one night at Thornton River Grille and it was good. Next night we ate at the Inn.
For lunch, go to 24 Crows, about 5 miles north of Washington in Flint Hill. It's a tiny place, but they make amazing sandwiches. The chef used to work at the Inn.

Four and Twenty Blackbirds is sorely missed. A thread from when this restaurant was one of the best west of D. C.: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/1713...
A destination that was worth the trip.

Thornton River was recommended to us by Diane at Foster Harris. It's very casual. She also recommended several other nearby restaurants, so feel free to ask her when you check in. We chose Thornton River primarily because it was the closest to the B&B.
Our favorite vineyards in the area were Narmada, Linden and Rappahannock Cellars.

Just want to note that today there was a Living Social deal for Foster House for $169. I think the deal is actually available in January, unfortunately not now to take advantage of the beautiful weather! And I think it expires in April (I think). But still a good deal if you've been wanting to head out that way and the timing works for you (it does for me- now I have birthday plans in January- hubby doesn't know it yet, but he may be taking me to the Inn!)
