Restaurants near Turnberry Isle?

My company is going to be staying at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle for a conference in mid-September and we'll be down an extra day. Are there any recommendations (with a bar) within a short cab ride near the hotel? We'll have a fairly large group, some of whom are vegetarian.

Thanks in advance.

  1. Well, the Fairmont Turnberry Isle has a great restaurant Bourbon Steak. I do not know what type of vegetarians your group has, but if fish is acceptable, the chef there is excellent when it comes to fish. Nice, enjoyable albeit expensive bar there, though most bars down here are. if the vegetarians in your group are strict, you will have a tough time in this town.

Right around the corner from the hotel you will find Aventura Mall, which has some convenient dining options. Across the bridge you will find some local favorites Timo (good bar as well), and NAOE, which is a sort of Japanese mini kaiseki (you can read in detail at and and other Sunny Isles restaurants. There's also Chef Allen's not too far away and Petit Rouge.

If you go north, there's the Village of Gulfstream Park (http://www.thevillageatgulfstreampark...), which is a newly redone and not yet finished racetrack, gambling and shopping destination. Not great dining, but it might provide for an enjoyable afternoon near the hotel.

I would also recommend checking out Miami Spice (, an annual restaurant promotion featuring quite a few area restaurants.

This should give you a starting point and then maybe we can help you narrow the choices down a bit further.

Thanks for the reply. Two of the girls are strict vegetarians, so fish wouldn't be an option for them. Is there any good Cuban or ethnic food in the area?

Try Miami Juice. It's not too far away and it will please the veggie as well as the carnivores.
