Where to eat near Itasca State Park MN and surrounding area

With fall approaching there will be a lot of folks including ourselves traveling in Northern MN for fall colors. We are looking for suggestions for good food and fun places to have dinner in the Bemidji/Walker/Park Rapids general area.

Ok, I’ll get this one started myself and hope to hear from others… I know options are slim in this part of the state. Norway Ridge is fantastic old style supper club in the heart of the MN lakes area. It’s located on Kimball Lake off County 39 near Ideal Corners-about 80 miles from Itasca so not really a good option unless traveling to or from the park. But it is the best for great food, fantastic service and ambiance of an old Pine Cabin. They house smoke their own ribs which are the best I have had and they make the sauce from scratch. They bake sourdough daily and make all their own dressings and sauces. Everything on the menu is great. Jackie and Alicia are the owners and are always onsite with Jackie acting as a welcoming hostess most of the time.

Perhaps you would like to stop in Dorset. The Mexican restaurant (Companeros) is decent for northern MN.
