Cheese Steak besides Carl's in Murray Hill/Gramercy/Kips Bay/Flatiron?

Anything outstanding besides Carl's? Murray Hill Deli on 34th and Lex does really good Cheese steaks, but I haven't had another good one besides Carl's in the neighborhood. (They also make the best sandwiches in the neighborhood, HUGE and really FRESH, and way cheaper than 2nd ave deli).

Is there anything else for cheese steaks though?

Another vote for 99 Miles to Philly.

They deliver, which I've found useful at a number of bars.

Definitely Shorty's in Hell's Kitchen. Best cheese steak in NYC by far.

99 Miles to Philly on 13th & 3rd is great. I love carl's but I've recently found myself craving 99MTP, it's a smaller steak but I think more closely resembles what I'm used to from South Philly than Carls.

99MTP does a finer chop of the steaks, and they are not stingy on the cheese like Carls can be.

I've always been a little more partial to 99 Miles over Carl's. I think the meat itself tastes better. Carl's fine, so I'm not saying anything bad about them. But my personal preference has always been 99 Miles.

Shorty's was an off shoot of Tony Luke's from Philadelphia but there was some sort of dispute or they stooped paying the franchise fee to Tony Luke's so there was a name change but the sandwiches haven't changed. I also like Woogie's but they aren't "authentic". There is also 99 Miles to Philly but I've never tried them even though they are in my neighborhood, I may have to change that.
