Will my friends be impressed by Bobo?

I'm looking for a restaurant to take my friends from Atlanta. I heard good things about Bobo, but have not been there. Food, atmosphere and martinis are important!

OMG, your Atlanta friend better be impressed by bobo! The interior and atmosphere is amazing and truly unique. I love that the food is local/seasonal and the burger and duck is my favorite! The cocktails are delish and obviously you can get a strong Martini there! Go and order the "dinner party" if you want the whole package!

Bobo is beautiful but completely overpriced and underwhelming in the food department. They change chefs constantly. They can't get it right. I don't recommend it!

Thanks, Varsel. I've heard the burger is really good. I am new at posting on CH and I can see that I did a poor job with information. Plus, have been gone all day and found that some earlier replies have already been deleted....Thanks for responding to me!

Bobo was kind of super hip quite a while ago. We used to really like the cocktails but they've really been in a tailspin and the bartenders have declined as well. That said - the location might be pretty impressive to out of towners - because it feels like some kind of secret. IMO - you'd probably be better off with any multitude of places with better food and better attitude.

Thanks, everyone. I get what you're saying, rdnnyc. I think I'll choose something else. Do you have any opinions about Crispo, Hearth or Perilla? This is a dinner for 6 ladies, ages 35 - 50 who are in town for the U.S. Open. It's really our only dinner out because the other nights we'll be at the Open late. We like good cocktails, wine and food, but want the atmosphere to be on the fun side. Nothing stuffy. Thanks for your help!

My vote - Perilla. Perfect restaurant for the group you describe. I go to the bar here frequently when I need a break in the village. Good location - updated seasonal menu. Great drinks. Nice staff. Make sure to get a reservation in advance... Have fun - I'll be at the Open on Labor Day! Love the Open!

HEARTH! Seriously... I had one of the best meals of my life at Hearth. It's a fun atmosphere with a fantastic wine/cocktail list... and the food is incredible. I think Hearth would be such a great idea for your group. Check it out!

I think youi'll love either Hearth or Perilla. I assume your Atlanta ladies are meat-eaters.

Thank you all for your input. Have been out of town and just seeing these! I love the Open too. (: Perilla and Hearth both sound great and yes, we eat meat!
