Clark..........Monmuth is outstanding but don't go just for dinner. Spend a few nights there and visit Natchez. It's a great city. Get a room in the newer part out back. Actually the owner has a new separate building with two rooms that's very nice. See if it's available. Dine at Monmouth one night then sightsee the next day and dine downtown at another restaurant the second night. I have been to Monmouth 3 times. Watch out for weddings though. Ask if there are any schedule when you call for reservations.

When you leave drive S through BR for lunch and then a few nights at NOLA. Have lunch and dinner at Galatoire's, Coquette, Commander's Palace, Acme Oyster Bar, Bayona, Clancy's and Brigtsen's. There are many more.

Mammy's Cupboard in Natchez MS is a sham and a shame! I have never had worse or ruder service and the food was terrible! We ordered waters and were served water in a bottle at $2 each - the waitress did not deem it necessary to tell us of the charge. The "homemade"soup tasted like Campbell's canned tomato soup with some canned veggies added and the famous pies were topped with Cool-Whip! Unbelievable! The coconut pie had a authentic meringue though and was the only thing salvageable from our $115 lunch for 7. AVOID!
