Cinnamon tip

Though I dislike the shtick of PBS's New Jewish Cooking show, a segment run yesterday had advice I'd never heard before. It is hard to blend cinnamon into liquids for things like glazes. But it will dissolve in alcohol, so mix it with vanilla extract or a spoonful of booze to form a paste before trying to blend it into other liquids.

Good tip. I bet there is more than one dish that would benefit from cinnamon and whiskey.

Yeah, if you've ever had cinnamon topped in your hot chocolate, you'll notice that it really doesn't dissolve.

Thanks for the very useful hint. Have you tried it? I wonder if a really good vodka would be the way to go as it seems to me to have less "taste"
