How were they packed, what size container and how much?
I saw big cans on of lemons on a shelf in the kitchen area of a Morrocan restaurant - smoke easy on Danforth. they should be not to expensive. Maybe theywere brought in from Montrael.
Try finding out who the distributor of "Cedar" products is.

Canned seems unlikely for a citrus product. Glass jarred in various sizes is all I've ever seen. They're never giveaway priced.

      2. There's a new middle eastern grocery/take-out in Kensington. They're not on the shelf but just ask and they will sell their homemade ones to you individually.

        1. There's a Spanish/Moroccan specialty food place on Mt. Pleasant a couple of stores south of Soudan on the east side. I'm pretty sure you'd get them there.

Store is called Pimenton and they definitely have preserved lemons, I was there on Saturday and there is a big jar of them on the shelf across from the cash.

Thanks for providing the name, bytepusher. I haven't actually bought anything from them, but everything looks delicious.

          2. St. Lawrence Market - there is a great store specializing in selling etnic foods from all otver the world (downstairs). I got a jar there.
