$7.99 a Pound Frozen King Crab $5.99 BIG lobsters at H Mart

Special today, really big nice King Crab. Bot 3 pounds... Kind of a sin to buy frozen king crab in lobster season, but it had been so long since I had king...

The key piece on the lobster front is that it was ALL lobsters for $5.99 and there were definitely some 2+ pounders in the tank...

Also had BIG tubs of daikon kimchee (a fav of mine) by one get one free ($8 for two).

Also, must be cause it's August, but noon on a Saturday, no crowds, plenty of room in the parking lot. Gosh I love Boston in July and August.

  1. Just wait until the Market Basket relocates away from the H-Mart end of the mall up the hill. What do you think the odds are that the H-Mart will make a deal for the right of its patrons to park in the side lot now marked "No H-Mart Parking"?

Another change of note in the H-Mart. Sliced marinated meats are now available self-serve in whatever quantity you like, not just the family-sized pre-filled containers. The selection is not as broad, but does seem to include the week's sale item. Look for this along the edge of the kimchee bar (well it DOES look like a salad bar, but with kimchee instead) that is closest to to the meat section/main part of the store. Hint: just about any form of H-Mart's boneless marinated beef stir-fried with broccoli florets or stem slices makes a tasty quick meal.

    1. Maybe, because it is tax-free shopping, people are not doing their food shopping this weekend.

      1. Is there anywhere to eat at H mart?

There is a food court which has been posted about in detail on H-Mart threads.

        2. Just got back from Alaska. One of the local fish markets in Sitka AK, had frozen king crab for $19 a lb. I laughed and walked out. Tourist trap.
