Mid range Dining in Vegas
We are off to Vegas to celebrate my 50th bday. We have dinner book at Alex to celebrate but we are looking for 2 more restaurants - one before The Reve show and another for Monday night. We are looking for good food but we don't want to spend another $600 for a dinner. Any recommendations. We are staying at The Wynn.
Maybe check the "Taste of Wynn" menus, which offer summer discounts at their restaurants. Bartolotta's has a $69 special, for example. Some of these are only valid relatively early in the evening, which might fit well the night you are going to the Reve show. Read the conditions, you may have to mention 'taste of Wynn' when you book reservations.
Also, Larry is too modest to push his own site, but he has extremely useful reviews of over 90 Vegas restaurants posted at http://home.comcast.net/~lasvegasvaca... ... these will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect at the various restaurants.
If you want to stay near Wynn, how about Bartolotta? It's my co-favorite seafood restaurant (along with RM Seafood) and my co-favorite Italian restaurant (along with B&B). If your meal at Alex costs $600, a corresponding amount of food and drinks at Bartolotta will run around $300 (although you can spend far less if you're careful).

I agree with Bartolotta - the meal I had there was outstanding and the pre-theatre menu is a great deal. For your other night maybe Julian Serrano or craftsteak, depending on what kind of food you want - it would be a nice change of pace, I think, from the more intimate atmospheres of Bartolotta and Alex.
