Best risotto

Looking for the best risotto (preferably lobster risotto) in Manhattan. I've been studying online menus and have found several restaurants that serve risotto, but I would love to hear opinions on the best risotto since I have never been to New York and am not familiar with the various restaurants and their specialties. Ideally, our dinner budget would be $200 or less for two people (no alcohol).

Thanks for any and all help!

  1. They make a risotto at Brasserie 8 1/2 that is a special but otherworldly, has fermented venison in it. WOW

    Brasserie 8 1/2
9 West 57th St., New York, NY 10019

    1. not lobster but my favorite is the corn and bacon one at craft. also like the squid inked risotto at 15 east.

      1. Best risotto hands down is at Risottoria in the village. The selection is great, the wait staff is very friendly and fun.

You have to be joking about Risottoria, They can't seem to get it right; overcooked mush and undercooked crunchy are their hallmarks. I have been there enough times to sense a definite pattern....they have no feel for what they do.

I might not get much agreement on this, but I think the best risotto in NYC is at Noodle Pudding in Brooklyn Heights. Try their lobster/seafood or mushroom.
