Looking for best steak in DC

I'd like to take a group of friends out for a special birthday dinner and am looking for a place where the birthday boy can get the best steak in town. Doesn't have to be a 'steak' house per se, but definitely a place well known for its use of red meat. DC proper as well. Thanks very much!

BLT Steak is my favorite.

I think you're going to get as many different answers as there are steakhouses in D.C.

I recommend taking a look at Charlie Palmer Steak. It is not a traditional steakhouse but probably the best within DC.

The porterhouse at Capitol Grille. End of discussion. :-) Get some pineapple cocktails and the lobster mac & cheese as well. This is our current steak by which all other steaks are measured, and it replaced some serious contenders.

I like The Capitol Grille, on Pennsylvania and 6th St. Had some damn fine steaks there, and the sides are great, too.
