late night dining options in the Twin Cities.

Any suggestions for late night dining options in the Twin Cities other than Denny's, Perkins, Mcdonalds? Either late night or 24 hour restaurants. Late night meaning after midnight.

I just had lunch at Esquina a Mexican joint on the corner of 5th St. and Hennepin downtown Mpls. According to the hours on the door, they close at 4pm and reopen at 10pm-4am for late night eats. Best carnitas tacos!

What a great tip! I love good carnitas! I need to learn more about La Esquina.

Too bad my bedtime is so early these days - Are they open during the day?

They are open for lunch until 4pm daily I believe. So don't try to have dinner there unless you want to wait until 10pm!

Mesa Pizza in Dinkytown is open till at least after bar closing, Pagoda is open till around midnight. not too sure about Bryant Lake Bowl, but I imagine pretty late. Psycho Suzis is open pretty late. Saffron and Solera both have late night Happy Hours. Pancho Villa's is open till 2 I think.

Village Wok on the U of MN campus (Washington Ave.) is open until 1:45 every morning, full menu. Recommended!

Yeah, that's my late night place. The food is hit or miss, but the won ton noodle soup (I think this is currently only available from the late night special menu) is really great when it's "on" and acceptable when it's not. Mmmm.

That's a good start, take out does count as well as fast food. I will have to check out Caffrey's subs along with some of the other suggestions. This is why this forum is so great. Keep up the great job everyone. It really works.

Not a restaurant, but I think Caffrey's Subs in Uptown (open til 3 am) are better than most.

There are a lot of places where the kitchen closes right around midnight - among these are Café Barbette, Duplex, the Bulldog NE (don't know about the other Bulldogs), the Red Stag, the Blue Door Pub, and the Town Talk. There are probably a few others around Uptown and Dinkytown.

After midnight, your options narrow. There's Dulono's Pizza and Pizza Lucé (downtown and Seward, I'm not sure about the other locations). If take out qualifies, there are a couple taquerias on Lake Street that are open late (Pineda #1 and Taco Taxi). The food isn't great at Mickey's Dining Car in downtown St. Paul, but it's one of the few 24-hour restaurants around here. The Hard Times Cafe is open until 4 a.m. but food quality will depend on who's cooking.

I don't mind Mickey's. I usually go to the outpost toward the airport. Cleaner and less crowded, especially right after bar rush. It certainly isn't gourmet, but I like it a lot.

I'm in the NE metro, so I stray toward Flameburger for my late night dining. Again, not gourmet, but a big step up from Perkins and the like. I prefer the Roseville location on Rice Street.

I usually will try to hit Bradstreet Crafthouse, Haute Dish or Bar La Grassa (all 1am) after work.
Taqueria Los Ocampos on Lake serves usually until at least 3am on the weekends, for sore really solid authentic mexican. Uptown Diner on Hennepin I believe is 24hrs, and is a solid industry hangout.

I know pizza luce serves late. 2am. Several locations.

That's a start, I will update as more come to mind.,
