Isle of Skye Restaurants

The west coast of the Scottish Highlands sources some excellent shellfish - scallops, mussels & prawns (often called langoustines). The NY Times is running an article about several restaurants on Skye serving those items.

We ate at the Glenview in May and I can give it a wholehearted recommendation - tremendous, good-value, incredibly fresh food in a great setting and with stupendous service. They even tried to stop us tipping - we insisted, some of the best service we've had in ages.

Trying to remember what we ate apart from the oysters... think I had a great pork dish and then a chocolate dessert and my wife had fish and the Scottish cheese plate.

We stayed in Staffin just up the coast. Was one our best holidays!

when we were there we ate at kinloch lodge, three chimneys and loch bay seafood. there is a full review on my blog but personally it was the three chimneys and loch bay that stood out and i'd want to return to.
