Visiting from NJ, on business here in MSP. Had a very enjoyable dinner last night at Cafe Lurcat. As it was a business meeting I did not concentrate on the food but everyone seemed pleased.
Starters included a deconstructed bacon, lettuce and tomato salad, two heirloom tomato and mozzarella salads and tuna tartare. All received a thumbs up.

Entrees were two orders of the sea bass in miso which was outstanding, Seared ahi with lemon confit and ponzu and fresh pasta squares with lobster, tomato and fresh herbs.
The sea bass was the standout of the entrees.

Desserts were a couple of scoops of homemade ice cream and a cheese plate with a flight of 4 ports. Ice cream was very good, cheese mediocre and port was great.

Overall, very nice meal and service was up to the quality of the food.

Glad you liked it tom. Lurcat is one of my favorite spots in the city - very solid food served in surroundings that I love. I think it's one of the more under-rated (or overlooked) restaurants in the downtown area.

i like lurcat, but i used to love it. It used to always be very regional and seasonally. While they still cook everything wonderfully i've noticed the restaurant getting a little less seasonal
