Duplicate text when Editing
When attempting to edit a post, after I hit 'SAVE' I see the edited version, followed by a repeat of the entire text (i.e. I see two versions of the edit - but I'm not sure if both are identical or the second is the original version).
When I try to re-edit, the second part is partially covered by the save button and can't be edited, but the first part is still available for edit.
If I try and delete ALL of that, I get the unedited version back.
If I leave a small part of the text there (e.g. the first sentence), then I now see the first sentence PLUS the complete edit (i.e. only the first sentence is repeated).
HOWEVER - after I've finished and return to the Board later, ONLY the first sentence remains.
My conclusion is that the 'second half' is phantom (it can't be edited - only the first half is available for subsequent edits) - but that means I lose my edited version when the post actually appears on the Board.
I haven't yet tried posting the 'complete double version' to see if one of the (assumed) duplicates will disappear.
Incidentally this also happened to me on a post PRIOR to the recent updates.
And both occasions were on the Spain/Portugal Board.

It happened again
Here's the copy of 'what I saw'
But the duplicate disappeared after I exited and returned to the post: Incidentally, the only edit was to remove a superfluous restaurant listing.
EXAMPLE FOLLOWS
Made it to Mad Michaels on the weekend – first time this year.
Overall very good, but some slight differences (or reactions).
First a shout-out for the TEXTURE – which was outstanding for just about everything. Not melt-in-the-mouth/fall-off-the-bone, but a nice ‘give’ (al dente?) texture that I prefer to the ‘baby-food’ version that’s all-too-common.
The Texas-Style Ribs (that I liked last year) were stand-outs this year. And the cornbread is still the best I’ve ever encountered ANYWHERE.
The brisket was excellent and the accompanying sauce was a knockout. Just enough heat to tingle my tongue.
The pulled pork was a little disappointing. Great texture (as I mentioned above) but the flavour was subdued. Maybe needed a little more smoke. And the jerk chicken (despite the great texture) was just bland – and the sauce didn’t really work for me either. The sides were competent – if anything the beans had a ‘darker’ flavour this year which gave them more personality. And the salads were very impressive – but who goes for salad at a BBQ?
And I still don’t get the ‘Midland crust’ – just too firm for me – but my companions almost fought over it.
I’ll DEFINITELY be back – and soon.

I actually made an error in that post - see specific placing of the words "EXAMPLE FOLLOWS"
and, yes, indeed that got duplicated too.
So here's the 'quadruplicate' text:It happened again

re: hannaone
Testing your process (edit is now being tested) to see what happens:
On this test, using your process, I didn't get a 'double' edit showing.
On the other hand, I rarely get the double edit showing.[this part inserted then edited after the post]
So you may be right that, as long as the page is refreshed BEFORE the edit is attempted, then the 'problem' never shows up on edit. It's possible (probable?) that I don't refresh after posting and before editing. However, as the issue rarely occurs anyway, I'm not sure that explains the issue. I can check this by attempting to edit this post (again), without refreshing - which I'll now do.
{second edit to edit the part in square brackets above - still no double text seen at any point so don't think we proved/disproved anything}

re: estufarian
The only time(s) I have problems with edit (rare) is when I edit the placeholder post without refreshing the page (I often hit submit then find a spelling error or that I've left out a word or three).
Every once in a while there is a small lag between submitting a post and the post actually appearing on the board page or topic thread. I think (just opinion) that this is when editing the placeholder causes the most problems. And I could be completely wrong.

This happened to me a while ago - I edited a post, saved, and had a double of the text appear. The repeated text disappeared later, when I went back and looked at the thread again. So if this glitch befalls you, I think you just leave it alone, and it will resolve to one iteration of the text in the post on its own eventually. I don't even know if others can see the doubled text, or only the person posting.
