Where is your favorite Bun Bo Hue?

  • 5

I have been thinking about this a lot recently from another thread that mentioned the best bun bo hue (spicy Vietnamese beef soup) out at the Eden Center. I really like the bun bo hue at Tay Do (surprise). I have had it at Present and Nha Trang (don't remember it that well though). So, where is the best one you have had?

  1. I've had it at Present, Com Tam in Eden Center, and years ago I ordered it regularly at Nam Viet. All very good, can't say I noticed much difference between them.

    1. I finally found Com Tam after a long search starting at the wrong end of the Eden Center. I didn't see it on the menu, but they only took cash so I will have to make a return trip.

I used to go there quite a bit, but they changed around the menu. I don't know if it was because of new ownership. Those little places in Eden Center turn over pretty quickly.

      2. One of the proprietors at Tay Do told me a couple of weeks back that, although he was proud of their own bun bo hue, the best single dish at Eden Center was the BBH at some place in the adjacent wing of the Center (to the right as you go out the door of Tay Do). I can't recall the name . . . . Is that where Com Tam is?

Com Tam is in there, but there are at least six other restaurants as well. Was it the older man? Tall, thin, graying hair?
