Christmas Planning in August... Montreal

sinjawns Aug 12, 2010 06:55 AM

This is a little out of season, but...

We've just booked a week in Montreal, arriving Christmas morning. We will likely have dim sum for lunch. For dinner, our only option may be hotel dining. That will be an entirely new experience for us in a city where we have explored a great many restaurants.

I am willing to book a hotel for at least that night based on the quality of the dining room: in your opinion, which central hotel has the best food on offer (irrespective of price and cuisine)?

Your advice is appreciated... will save us from eating potato chips for Christmas dinner.

Sofitel with its restaurant Renoir. There are restaurants open Christmas Day though they won't be say, La Chronique.

Thanks wattaceti. I have in fact had breakfast at Renoir; it might be just the thing.
If you, or anyone else, learns of a good non-hotel non-asian resto open on Christmas night please advise.

I will go the same way as wattacetti, Renoir @ Sofitel imo is one of the best hotel restaurant in this city, plus the hotel is top notch (we're going out of topic for this board)
