Bandon to Lincoln City?
Hi everyone,
We'll be travelling up the OR coast in a few weeks. I see there is a Brookings to Bandon thread already. Not being that familiar with the geography of OR, I wonder if you are all willing to throw in your suggestions for good, somewhat economical eats for the middle to northern part of the coast. Links to other threads are also appreciated. I may've glossed over them if they referred to names of towns I'm not familiar with. Thank you!

You must visit the OTIS CAFE just outside of Lincoln City......Go north on Hwy 101, then east on Hwy 18. Otis is a tiny town, just an intersection really, about a mile or so east of 101. The OTIS Cafe is adorable, tiny, and very popular (read CROWDED) especially for breakfast weekends/summer. But well worth it. Try the breakfast special that is great hash browns, topped with veges, then smothered with Tillamook Cheddar Cheese. Add their homemade dark brown bread ( I think it had molasses in it) and you are in heaven. I understand that their lunches and dinners are equally good, but have only had breakfast there myself. Enjoy!!!!!! If you get any further north, Karla's Smokehouse is a must-stop for the best-ever smoked salmon/tuna/oysters\etc. Smokes fresh daily and usually sells out by afternoon. There was also a very good BBQ stand next door last time I was there.

I hesitated to reply the first time, because "somewhat economical" is hard to interpret, but my favorite restaurants in the area are The Beach Dog in Lincoln City for breakfast, and the Delicate Palate in Lincoln City. I used to recommend The Side Door just south of Lincoln City, but a recent post below, "Newport to Pacific city" says they weren't that good on a recent visit. I hope that was an exception.

I didn't get any further north than Newport on my recent trip, but you should be passing through all the places where we stopped. Definitely recommend Local Ocean Seafoods in Newport.
