Rehearsal Dinner in Mobile Alabama Area

  • 9

Our son is getting married in Mobile AL next spring and the rehearsal dinner is on us. I know I am a bit ahead of the curve but better now than a week before the wedding! I am looking for a nice hall or preferably a restaurant that can accommodate 30 - 40 people and if I am paying I guess I get to choose the menu and that would be (1) classic southern (2) local seafood or (3) italian
Please let me know your thoughts - Thanks

Not exactly getting run over with ideas or options for this event, thanks for your reply. We will be going back out in a few weeks and see what we can find and may come by and check out The Pillars

I like The Pillars too. I have a good friend from Mobile who should be well-versed on this subject as she's a lovely social butterfly - I'll ask her and get back with you.

Another friend tells me that The Pillars has closed.

Okay - The Pillars has indeed closed.

Here's what my lovely-lovely friend offered:

"Felix's on the causeway - they are owned by the same people as Ruths Chris.

Ruths Chris would be another option.

Alot of people have theirs catered at the Ezell House. it has a nice outside and inside area. Would not work for a sit down rehearsal dinner, but a friend of mine had hers there and it was really fun. http://www.ezellhouse.com/

The Battlehouse hotel has a restaurant called the Terrace. I have never been there, but I'm sure it is good.

I've also heard of people catering them at the Mobile Museum of Art."

She is wonderful and I would take any advice she gives. I know for a fact (as I've been there) that Felix's and Ruth's Chris are great. BigBob, I hope this helps!

    2. A friend I trust said to look into Cafe 615. It's a nice restaurant that also caters weddings. Good luck.

I really appreciate the responses and will look into all of your suggestions. Someone also mentioned the Original Oyster House on the causeway as an option. It is rated very well but not sure if it would work for a rehearsal dinner, any thoughts on that place?

Original Oyster House has the newer and nicest facilites. Felix's has a great atmosphere but the facilites are not comparable with OOH. The food is probably best at Felix's. The private dining rooms at OOH overlook Mobile Bay. I trust Kudzu but my choice would be OOH. Either one would be fine. You just have to make a choice. Good luck.

      2. Try Noja! It's great, and can be reserved for private parties.
