I recieved a call today that they are cloaing because of new management!! Where should we relocate?!?! Friday we are gonna do burger joint and saturday Prime 112. Sunday we would like to stay in the 20-27 range for entrees and are not picky. We are staying at the Gansevoort without a car, but are willing to take a cab- though not too far. All hep appreciated!!

Holy crap! Will Frodnesor be sitting shiva? Let us know where you end up and how the food is. I'll be down there in early October.

re: Blind Mind
Two months ago was the last time. It was transcendentally mediocre. I probably went four or five times in the last year. Each time, something I ordered would be lukewarm or off-tasting. I will say the brunch was wonderfully prepared and a real treat. For some reason, every time I went for dinner, it was nearly empty.
I even went for the pasta and meatball dinner they marketed a while back. I took a group of five friends and while the meatballs were tasty, they were cold. The other accoutrements of the meal were only okay.
It's a shame. I kept going because I remembered what it was and, at one time, I was really enamored with the place. It was circling the drain for a looong time.

That's too bad. I never had that kind of experience there. I really enjoy the food at Talula, especially the shortribs and offal specials they occasionally put out. I guessing they will be back in a different location and I look forward to that day.

re: Blind Mind
The owners of Talula, Andrea Curto-Randazzo and Frank Randazzo, recently opened The Water Club, in the former Miami Shooters location in the Intracoastal Mall, on the Intracoastal Waterway.
In a June interview with MNT's Riki Altman, Cutro-Randazzo says she plans to take business away from Houston's. She says, "We've got the best burger in town. And we have our lobster bisque. It isn't progressive, but a good lobster bisque is hard to find. We'll also have a lot of local fish [and] steaks on the high-end and low-end. Many entrees are less than $20.
"Some dishes you'll see Frank and me in, like the crispy fried oysters with blackened corn salsa. This seems the perfect place to have it. And I insisted on microbrews."
She also says Talula had become a 'Happy Birthday celebration' place, and she thinks The Water Club will become more of an everyday, every man kinda place.

I don't think the water club could be priced cheaper- Share real info people.
I was a big Talula fan and have to say that I am devastated about them closing it. It was always solid. I look forward to their next venture and will eat at the water club because it is also very good (different by far than Talula)
Keep it real!-----

Yup, it appears that Talula is closed and will be relocating, though info on where is unknown right now.
I'm suggesting you check out Solea at the W hotel. The food is phenomenal. It's also a quick walk from the Gans. Oh, and their Miami Spice menu offers some of their best dishes too. Miami Spice is a promo that lots of restaurants participate for the months of August and September where diners get to choose an appetizer, main, and dessert for $35 for dinner. At that price, you can't go wrong at Solea.
For more info on Miami Spice, check out www.ilovemiamispice.com. Enjoy Miami!
