looking for purple basil for a dessert dish...which stores will sell the product toronto and surronding area

Try Farmer's Market (south side of St. Lawrence Market) - it is opened on Saturdays, and I got purple basil there 2 weeks ago.

Just FYI:

If it's South St. Lawrence, then they're open all week.
If it's North St. Lawrence, then it's Saturday only.

I'd think purple basil could be found in asian markets... I'm just not sure which ones.

There's a lady who lays out a blanket on the sidewalk on the south side of Gerrard, just east of Broadview. All she sells are fresh herbs. She's not easy to understand, as she doesn't speak much English, but I've definitely seen her selling a few types of basil, shiso leaves, cilantro and other herbs used regularly in Vietnamese cooking. If she doesn't have it, one of the stores on that block probably will.
