informal in fort greene on a tuesday night?

  • 5

i'm performing next tuesday night in fort greene, @ tillies on dekalb. will probably want a celebratory bite and drink afterwords. it could be 4 people, it could be 8 or 10, possibly more (though unlikely)

clearly this isn't something i can make a reservation for. price is less important that a good atmosphere, good food, good drinks and/or beer selection

i don't know this neighborhood at all... any thoughts are welcome...

  1. For beer selection and convenience, you might try Brooklyn Public House, which is basically right across the street from Tillie's. The food is ok for the most part (kind of standard Irish Pub Fare) but I suggest it mainly because they have a big back area that makes it easy to tack on tables if more people show up than you thought.

    1. The General Greene is not far from Tillies, tasty small plates, good drinks and beers, tho not cheap

      1. It might be too informal but i liked 67 burger a lot when i ate there, they have a few beers on as well. Its usually a quick turnaround so you could always head on elsewhere.

          nothing could be too informal.

        2. So many good choices on DeKalb. Kif for relaxed Mediterranean. Madiba for "shebeen" South African. There's also Graziella's pizza on Vanderbilt below DeKalb with a nice rooftop area. Luz's Latin food on Vanderbilt is also very good. Gen. Greene is good too but often packed; the others, less so. Enjoy, wherever you go.
