Chef Miquel is an outstanding chef creating one of Quito's most creative and inspiring fine dining menu. We sat at the chef's table and had a 6 course (me) and 7 course (my daughter) menu. I was ill so Chef Miguel created a light tasty meal that pleased my palate and did not overwhelm me....his maitre d' Francisco was WONDERFUL.

It sounds wonderful. We're hoping to go to Ecuador in 2011, so I'll keep this in mind.

SusanB, also add Zazu to your list. Chef Alex is amazing. Lastly after touring Plaza Grande have lunch at El Ventanal. The views are stellar and the food very good. We had a trio of ceviche, duo of sopa and Maggie had beef carpaccio. The cab from Plaza Grande was 3 USD. It is on Calle Carchi y Nicaragua.
