PLAIN Sheep's Milk Yogurt anywhere?

Bought some excellent sheep's milk yogurt at Zabar's in NYC awhile ago and am wondering if plain sheep yogurt is available around these parts.

You used to be able to find goat yogurt, but now that's hard to find without flavor. I want plain for savory cooking.

Plus the sheep yogurt was much more neutral tasting, as it wasn't "goaty"

I have looked and asked at TJ's, WF, Formaggio and the middle east place next door ... but maybe I am looking in the wrong place or asking the wrong person.

Any ideas?

The homemade yogurt at Sofia's Greek Pantry is made from sheep's milk and is plain. It's stored in a refrigerator in the back so you have to ask her to get it for you. It's much tangier than regular yogurt so I wouldn't describe it's taste as neutral.

Tangy is great, goaty is ok but not neutral.

I am pretty sure, tho not 100%, that I've seen Old Chatham sheep's milk plain yogurt at Whole Foods. It has a black sheep on it and the container is green. Their website says they can ship it to you, as well http://www.blacksheepcheese.com/

I buy it at both Newton locations, so I would be surprised if you couldn't find it at all of them. Small container.

In the past I have purchased it at the Fresh Pond WF. Haven't looked for it recently so I don't know if they still carry it. You might want to call them before going there.

i see goat's milk yogurt at trader joe's all the time, but have not seen sheep.

Do you recall seeing PLAIN? Because I was in the CC one last week and all they had was flavored.

I cook for a cow's milk allergic person and it was great to find plain, non-cow yogurt. The goat yogurt has a goaty taste, which is probably why it's hard to find plain.

i never buy flavored and have definitely bought plain goat's milk yogurt at that cc tj's. not lately, but just yesterday they had goat's milk gouda and brie.

although the place is so mad busy you never know what they will be out of.
