Pennsylvania Dutch Festival at Reading Terminal Market this weekend

It runs from Thursday, August 12-Saturday, August 14, 8am-5pm.
On Saturday, the festival there will be Amish buggy rides, horse drawn wagon rides, a farm animal petting zoo, and live bluegrass music.

Hot donut lovers, the wait is almost over...

Do you know who's playing the bluegrass?

    2. Thanks for the reminder! Are the donuts comparable to what they have during the fall festival?

The donuts are the same as the fall festival but the do them indoors. Not sure who is doing the bluegrass though.

      2. I got there today a little before 4:00 and they had stopped donut production. LUCKILY, there were about 10 glazed donuts (and a bunch of other ones I don't care about) still for sale... I'll be sure to get there earlier tomorrow and Saturday ;)

I was made aware of this after the fall festival when we went back to get a peanut butter chocolate donut at 3:00pm and they had already stopped making them. Thanks for the reminder though--I'll be sure to get there on the earlier side tomorrow!

Peanut butter chocolate? Wow that's a new one!

I forgot to add more photos...

They had it at the fall festival several years ago, then didn't have it another year, and then brought it back. For whatever reason, though, I believe I remember that they don't advertise having it. It's excellent, though!

I had my fill of donuts (like 6...all of which were excellent) on Saturday. I did ask about the peanut butter ones but was told that they have not made them for a few years now. Maybe in the fall they will do them (or pumpkin!).

We also noticed that they didn't have them at this festival, but they definitely had them last fall so I would try back this fall to see if you can snag a few. I think I definitely prefer the fall festival to this one, if for no other reason than having some of the "special" vendors outside makes for a much less claustrophic environment as compared with having everything (except the animals and band) inside.

        2. Does anyone know the date for the fall festival?
