Hi! I am loooking for a good place to take a group of 30-40 people, preferably walking or trolley distance from the convention center. Our group is preferably looking for food and/or atmosphere that is typical of San Diego. Decent service is also important. We do not mind selecting from a few choices on a fixed menu. A private or semi-private dining area would be a huge bonus. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!!

Contact the managers at Roys and the Top of The MArket.

At Roys, you could probably get the outsdide deck, which is very nice and they will cistomize a menu for you that could also include wine or drinks.

At Top of the MArket, see if it would be possible to get the whole top portion of the place, they have great views, and food.

good call on Roy's or Top of the Market at the Fish..
Another thought is the upstairs at McCormicks and Schmicks at the Omni hotel in the Gaslamp..they have a 3 course meal for $29 bucks.
Jsix at Hotel Solamar is another option.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines has an awesome event every last Wednesday of the month where the chef there pairs a specially crafted menu with a local micro brewery. The brewer and chef talk about what is being served and it could not be a better setting...Overlooking the Torrey Pines Golf Course. My wife and I went with a couple friends and had a great time...were going back with the same group.
