First visit to A La Turca - ordering recs?
I've heard good reports about this restaurant, and will be headed there shortly for a casual dinner with friends. Any favorites that you would recommend? I'm not usually a huge kebab eater, but am a fan of Turkish food, having mostly eaten it in Europe. I'm sure some manner of kebabs will be consumed, as we will have a hungry 5 year-old with us. No dietary restrictions or dislikes for any in the group.

A La Turca is on my ridiculously long "to try" list still so these are obviously second-hand ideas but here's what I have set my sights on when I visit SF again:
pides: yeasted dough filled with salty cheese, meat (sucuk, spiced beef sausage sounds particularly appealing) or vegetables and beyti keba, ground lamb wrapped in lavash, cut into rounds and drizzled with thick yogurt and a tomato-pepper sauce. I noted some time ago that they serve manti, triangular dumplings filled with ground lamb, topped with garlicky yogurt and browned butter, but I believe these are only available Sundays.
