Beer lover in Quebec city

wideberth Aug 9, 2010 02:37 PM

Any suggestions for a beer lover looking for a good meal in Quebec city? I was there last year just passing through and liked the look of some of the little bars on Rue St Jean, but didn't get the chance to go in anywhere.

Just got back from a trip there. Didn't find a ton for the beer + good meal at same time category, but the places I found to go for beer were:

Le Corsaire (across the river, quick ferry ride which is quite scenic)
    La Barberie

Also, a short drive out of the old city is le monde du bier (I think it was), which had a great selection of quebecois micros, including DDC much cheaper than they have here.

I didn't find much worth hitting up inside the old city in terms of beer.

I've been to La Barberie (for the beer only) and it's good, close enough to DDC, though not quite, in my opinion.
I've heard good things about Le Corsaire but never been.
Also, my cousin who lives in Qc City once refered me to these places for good beer AND grub:

Thanks you both for the recommendations. We tried Le Corsaire last night, which was worth the boat trip despite the underwhelming beer. Trying L'Inox or La Barberie today.
