Monday lunch in Morristown?

  • 8

My two colleagues and I are going to be in Morristown next Monday and will need a lunch spot after our meeting and before getting on I-287 south to drive home. Mid-range or up is what we are looking for, not necessarily fine dining but not Mexican either (although that would be my personal preference!) Any suggestions? The restaurant needs to be open on Mondays, of course, and in Morristown proper.

  1. Check Copeland, Sushi Lounge, Aikou, Grand Cafe.

    Aikou
63 Reaville Ave, Flemington, NJ 08822

    1. The addresses listed for Sushi Lounge and Aikou are for other branches. They are in Morristown, also.

      1. Tim Schaefer's-- In the Hyatt. Excellent.
The Copeland-- In the Westin. Excellent.
Famished Frog-- Just off the Green. More moderate than the first 2 above.

        All open Mondays.

I have not yet made it here, but I have heard good things to make me want to go sometime when I'm in the area......It may be worth considering.

        1. Sebastian's Steakhouse, near the train station does a very nice lunch, too. It's probably near the upper end of your price range.

          1. Copeland's, yes-but it's not in 'downtown' Morristown.
Sushi Lounge (on Schuyler Place just off Washington St), yes.
Famished Frog, no. Unless you want a Houlihan's-esque vibe/menu. Definitely not mid-upscale.
I don't think Tim Shafer's is IN the Hyatt; it's always been across the street from it.
Origin Thai on South Street is supposed to be very good-upscale Thai. (ETA: the original location's website popped up at the bottom, so I'm leaving it for you.)
Ming II is Pan-Asian and while I haven't been there, I have been to some of their other restaurants and they're excellent. It's in the HQ Plaza (Hyatt).

            1. Copeland in the Westin-Governor Morris Inn is excellent!
