Need good food near JFK, but not Asian.

We will have a 3 hr. 40 min. layover at JFK next month around lunchtime. Would like to get out of the airport to eat, but don't want Asian food. I realize we need travel time and to be back at the airport an hour before departure. Any good options out there for us? Many thanks!

Don Peppe's family style Italian is good. That's pretty close by. Closed Mondays but open noon all other days (Sun open 1).
