Waterwheel Restaurant, Doylestown

We had a wonderful dinner at The Waterwheel Inn in Doylestown last night. Had planned to have dinner in town, but since it was First Friday and D-town was overrun by teenagers, we decided to head towards New Hope instead. On the way, I recalled The Waterwheel Inn from many years ago, so we stopped in to review the menu and decide if that would work for dinner. When I was there years ago, I don't recall an outside patio. They now have a really nice outdoor seating area which flows out to a beautifully landscaped garden with tall trees. We chose to eat outdoors. The fountain and garden near the seating area makes for a really peaceful setting to enjoy your dinner. Two menus are available outside - the regular menu and the more casual, bar menu. We ordered from both and all of our appetizers and entrees were perfectly prepared and delicious. Would recommend the Baked Brie with Raspberry Sauce as well as the Crab Cake. Owners, Kenny & Mickey, and staff were very nice and there are several private dining areas for large parties as well as the Millstone Cellar Bar for after dinner drinks. Very happy we stumbled upon them last night instead of eating in town. Hope to try their Sunday brunch at some point in the future. You can view the menu and find directions at

  1. I just wanted to comment that my family went to Waterwheel for Easter brunch and had a fantastic time. It was our first time there, and we enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant from the service to the food to the setting. Definitely recommend!
