Friday Night Happy Hour

Would appreciate suggestions for Happy Hour on a Friday night in downtown Seattle. Seeking discounted cocktails and wine, in addition to reasonably priced small plates. Thanks in advance.

  1. There was a thread on downtown happy hours pretty recently.

If you can be more specific as to what you're looking for, such as what part of downtown, cuisine, etc., I think we can be more helpful.

Without knowing any specifics, I can say that I enjoyed HH at Twist in Belltown, but it was more for their drink specials than their food. I can only say that the vodka martinis were great.

Thank you for the link... We are pretty ignorant as we haven't been to Seattle in 5 or 6 years. We are staying at a new hotel, Hyatt Place at 110 6th Avenue. Would love any of the following...happy hour with both cocktails and wine discounted, small plates...perhaps seafood or Italian, salads, Thai, Vietnamese or other Asian. Those would be our top picks but we are open to anything good and not too expensive. Would love to find small plates in the $5-6 range.

If you want Italian you can't do better than Tavolata, though the plates are actually pretty big, and $8. I've heard good things about Branzino's happy hour--they specialized in seafood and Italian, and I like them for dinner. Long Provincal is good for Vietnamese.

Know that all good happy hours can be crowded, and might require getting there early, though since Friday is a holiday you might be safe.

Thought about this post while I was bouncing around in Belltown waiting for a pal--we ended up at Twist and their happy hour specials weren't too shabby. Had a good time watching all the people and had a few pretty good drinks. Actually I like Ventana Restaurant, which is right next door and the same owner, a little more. It's not as crazy loud in there, the food was great, they were open late, and the atmosphere was perfect for sitting and just enjoying the night.
