Do me a favor and just go straight to Cafe Chloe for the most incredible brunch stateside! It's as if you've stepped into a French cafe! Order the poached eggs with wild mushrooms and sage-truffle beurre blanc which is TO-DIE-FOR!!!! The Croque Madame runs a close second for me at least. They also serve mimosas - get the lavendar one! Yummm!!!! It's off 9th and G St. in East Village (near Gaslamp). You can thank me later...

3rd Cavaillon and you should be able to walk right in.
Coffee Cup Cafe in La Jolla, but go early to snag a table.
Claire's on Cedros has breakfast/brunch. I've only been for lunch and it was pretty decent.
Naked Cafe in Solana Beach and other locations are pretty similar to Coffee Cup Cafe's menu (Asian-Latino).
Pacifica Breeze Cafe in Del Mar has good breakfast/brunch, outdoor patio dining.
Americana in Del Mar isn't too bad either.

Can second Farm House and Cavaillon for brunch.
The Pearl in Point Loma does a nice brunch, too, but I don't think they do reservations.
Urban Solace does brunch and you can make reservations by phone or on OpenTable.com.

Cavaillon in Santa Luz is wonderful.
La Valencia Hotel on the back ocean patio in LJ.
            The Cottage in LJ.
Jake's Del Mar does a decent off the menu breakfast with oceanfront views.

I've visited Alchemy quite a few times, never made a reservation, and never had to wait for a table. The food has ranged from good to excellent. Highly recommended.
