I would choose Far Niente on Brand.

It's not fancy, but Mamita's Peruvian Restaurant on Brand a couple of blocks south of Colorado is really good. In fact, I just had it for lunch today. Don't miss the Fried Plantains and the fruit drink they offer.

Camilo's is GRAND (formal and tasty) but I fussed about posting it, as it is a bit east.

But hooray for you putting it there, now I can say yay : )

You're also close to Universal. Ca del Sole is very nice...especially on the patio.

Palate on Brand has lunch on Fridays. It's an amazing place.

I like Fortune Inn - chinese food a tad amercanized but very well done. (Maryland, north of broadway)

You are right by the Americana - I have not been, but who could resist Katsuya - they have a branch there, designed by Stark.

And not so chi chi but VERY tasty, is a sushi place on Maryland, south of Broadway. Very inventive rolls, high quality. Closer to Harvey than broadway, if that helps.

There are also many nice restaurants ON Brand. And preferences for cuisine?

Sorry, but Palate is overpriced, below average food.

Raffi's has very good Middle Eastern food. Huge portions of good quality meats.

been to raffi's once, palate, over two dozen times. i do not see the ratio getting anything but more extreme.

palate has great service. the food and the wine selection are splendid. the menu is also such that you can eat for what i consider a bargain (so much so, i do not go to the more casual and nearby canele anymore). on the other hand, if you feel like a sumptuous feast, easily done as well.

it is the only restaurant in the area that my business partner and i will take clients. tables in the back are more casual/wine bar feel. the front is a bit more formal.

Also, needs to be on the nice side and appropriate for businesspeople. Now I promise to stop replying to my own post!
