Marcus & Willy's - Eastern Shore, Nova Scotia

I recently dined at Marcus and Willy's in Head of Jeddore on Hwy. 7. It's a bit out of the way but if you find yourself in the area I would highly recommend stopping by.

Their seafood chowder is amazing. They say it won some sort of international competition, which made me skeptical (same thing with anything people claim has been "voted #1." My question always is "By whom?") but if it won awards it deserves it. The base of the chowder is as it should be, perfectly seasoned, the right balance of cream...and the seafood. Oh the seafood. It was chock full of it, not much potato filler (thank goodness). Others in my dining party had fish and chips (very good) and buffalo wings (very good; however, their version of "hot" is what we would call "medium" where I am from).

Head of Jeddore is out of the way but if you find yourself in the area do yourself a favor and at least pop in for a cup of chowder.

I could not agree more, this place truly offers the best seafood chowder in NS. My husband and I were out driving around the Eastern Shore this spring and we asked someone to recommend a place to have lunch. Marcus and Willy's was the place mentioned so off we went. We both love seafood chowder, and after reading it won awards for their version, we both ordered it. We were blown away by how delicious it is and yes, chock full of wonderful seafood and perfect creamy broth. Well worth the drive for this chowder!.
