Searching for Red Pepper Flakes

I recently moved to Auckland from the US and lots of my recipes call for red pepper flakes but I can't find them anywhere. Does such a thing exist here or is it called something else? The spice sections at Foodtown/Countdown are so small, about 1/4 of the varieties of spices we have in the US and I am wondering if there is somewhere else I can look for spices that perhaps offers a more extensive selection other than the standard supermarkets.

Hiya try the Tofu Shop in Newmarket or Mt Eden they have lots of spices you can't find at the supermarkets. Also the Silver Bell on Dominion Road. Agree with T_P though I think if you look for Chilli Flakes at Foodtown you should be able to find what you are looking for.

I think what you are after is chilli flakes. I don't know about NZ but in Aus you can get it anywhere. Are there any Indian / Pakistani groceries in Auckland? You might want to try there. Otherwise I'd try mail order online ...
