Your favorite places near 16th St & 8th Ave!

Hi folks,

This is a general request for info! I just moved to the above intersection and am not too familiar with the neighborhood. I'd love to know people's favorites restaurants (and markets, if relevant) within a grid of, I dunno, one or two avenues and six streets or so.

That means all price ranges, all cuisines, all meals of the day. I'd just feedback on what people's favorite places are in the neighborhood.

(FYI, one of the few things I've done so far is go into Chelsea Market, so I'm familiar with the businesses there, though I haven't yet tried much.)

Grey Dog is one of my favorite there. It's nothing fancy, mostly sandwiches, salads and coffee but I truly love this place. Very good breakfast. Also Suenos on 17th str and 8th ave is very good.
Other restaurants that are really great are Scarpetta, Cookshop, Co, 202, Green Table.

Txikito is the place I wish was in my neighborhood-you could drop by for a glass of wine and a few bites or stay for the evening. I think I could eat the txiki txampi (mushroom/cheese/shrimp grilled sandwich) every day. Very friendly, comfortable place.
