Best Bowl of Oatmeal in LA?

Hello All,

I will bee arriving in LA on Saturday morning around 11:30ish and will be in need of some serious grub. I love oatmeal for breakfast and am also 'preparing' my body for a burger feast at 26 Beach later in the evening.

So my question is, where is the best bowl of oatmeal in LA (steel cut, old fashioned, etc... it's all game for me)? I've seen it on the menu at Urth and Hugo's and was trying to decide between the two but was wondering if there were any better. I will be driving but would like to keep it near Westwood/DTLA/The Valley since I will be staying in Santa Monica and visiting the CA Science Center.

Here's a prior thread on this subject http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/486468 and if you take a look at the list of places recommended by Emme you will see mostly west side places (John O'Groats is a good place for oatmeal) places that ought to be both tasty and geographically desirable for you.
