Dessert After Lupa

I am looking for recommendations for a place to stop in for dessert after dinner at Lupa. I suspect we'll be full after our meal, so we'll likely walk around in the Village and will want to grab something small--maybe gelatto, chocolate truffles, cookie, pastry, macaroon, etc. I would appreciate any suggestions. If it matters, we're going on a Monday at the end of the month.

Thanks!

  1. Although I'm not fond of much of Lupa's dessert menu, the gelato there is great. It's made by the same person as at Otto (Meredith) & brought over. Too bad they only have one or two flavors. Of course, you can leave Lupa, walk across Wash Sq. Park and have dessert at Otto, where you can get any of the many great flavors (ie; dont miss the olive oil w/a little salt on top) or get it inside the coppettas.

    1. What time do you think you'll be done eating? A lot of the bakeries and sorts of places you're looking for close on the early side.

Most truffle makers close on the early side. And the good places like Kee's make a lot of their filled chocolates fresh daily, so they'd probably be out of a good number of flavors by the end of the day.

For gelato, either go to Otto or L'Arte de Gelato. Grom and Cones are nearby as well but I don't like them as much.

For cookies, Milk and Cookies bakery is in the West Village. I think Amy's Bread has cookies as well.

For cupcakes, Sweet Revenge, Amy's Bread, and Magnolia are open on the later side. I'm not a huge fan of Magnolia's cupcakes but you can get one of their ice box cakes or banana pudding instead.

Additionally, you could stop into Rocco on Bleecker street and get one of their piped to order cannoli (possibly the best thing there).
