40 b-day weekend - fun atmosphere & great food wanted

A group of about 8 is going to Vegas from NYC and NOLA and are looking for 2 dinner recommendations. We'd love a place with great food, but NOT stuffy fun for a group (i.e. lots of cocktails!). Looking to avoid anyplace with a NYC branch/chef and long prix-fixe dinners. Last trip we ate at Michael Mina, and could barely move for the rest of the night. Thoughts? Would be specifically interested in hearing thoughts on N9NE or Julian Serrano. Thanks.

Get birthday cupcakes delivered from Retro Bakery. They kick Magnolia Bakery's ass and go great with some birthday champagne.

Julian Serrano was very good - didn't blow me away, but solid food and a great atmosphere that I think you and your group would enjoy. I'm assuming your no New York clause rules out craftsteak, which would be fun for a big group because the food is served family style and you could pass it around and sample.
