Cajun Food

I know I've seen something here about cajun food but it's been a while. I don't know if there's anything here in Miami-Dade. But I recall a place in Broward and can't remember the name! Any suggestions for cajun food in Broward?

  1. The place you're looking for in Broward might be Creolinas.

    Creolina's
209 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

    1. Shuck 'n' Dive, 650 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, has good etouffee and fried green tomatoes. Beers aplenty from NOLA, including Abita, and great oysters. Expect to root for the Saints when they're playing, or root by yourself!

Oh, and Creolina's is not where the map says it is. They moved coupla years to Davie, where they're now called Dixie Takeout

      1. Rosey Baby is one I have always planned to try but have never been. You'll have to get a rec from another person on this place.

Thanks, FD! And of course to the other respondants too!!

I'll be thinking about you today, FD! I'm cooking in a Rib Contest at my golf club today against 17 other teams (some from local BBQ joints I've been told). The judging system is a little goofy so not to worried about winning or losing. Just hoping to come up with some pretty good ribs and I'm confident....as always!

Reviews are reasonably mixed on Rosey Baby, although I hear good things about their crawfish.

I've often thought about jumping into some local contests like bbq and chili cook offs. Is Bono's from Stuart in on it? Good luck.

Report back so I know which cajun I should try one day when I am further down south.

Hi, FD......Roseybabys is the place I was trying to find......I've been there before but it was so long ago.....couldn't remember the name.......But I remembered the night we were there the food was quite good......Not like eating at The Gumbo Shoppe or Nola's.....but quite good......

As for the BBQ contest......good news......I did end up winning.......My ribs were solid....just went with fundamentals the whole way......And of course I went with the Blues Hog sauce......and that won the day........beat 16 other teams.......Not exactly big time competition.....but enough trash talking to get the competitive spirit going.......Did win a pretty nice trophy though........and winner of the inaugural Gator Trace BBQ Ribs SmackDown........
