Last Minute Trip to Portland... Help!

We're taking a last minute trip to Portland for three nites. We made reservations at Hugo's and are planning to hit Duck Fat.

The problem is we're having a hard time deciding where else to eat. Hugo's is a no brainer since we've been to Town House, Alinea, Mccradys, Elements, WD-50, etc all this year.

Any help separating what seem like tons of good restaurants but nothing that stands out... breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, whatever!

Make sure to stop in at Rabelais on Middle (east of Franklin) - good books about food and eating, etc.

Try those and tell me what you think.

Thanks for the suggestions... Coming in from Philadelphia

    2. Other dinners on my "outstanding" list: 555 Congress, Caiola's, Bresca
Something different: Green Elephant (vegan and incredibly creative) for lunch (Congress St., near the art museum)
Japanese: Miyake, hands down, especially the 5 - course tasting menu

      1. I really like Emilitsa, really good Greek food; Paciarino makes excellent homemade pastas; Bar Lola in Munjoy Hill is always stellar. Otto Pizza, on Congress, is a relative newcomer, but makes excellent creative pizzas and sells by the slice.

        1. Sounds like you've been eating well! *jealous*

I would throw out Bar Lola as a suggestion. Ate there for the first time recently and loved the simple, clean, balanced flavors. Everything was really delicious. Agree that Bresca is a good bet as is Miyake.

For breakfast, I personally like Front Room. This is a controversial suggestion, but when its on (and it has been for awhile for us), its really good and offers some out-of-the-ordinary breakfast options.

Local 188 is a fun place for drinks and snacks/apps/tapas.

I appreciate all the suggestions! Thanks!

          2. Everything listed below is great but for lunch or for the road....-Micucci's Sicilian slabs. The baker there is the one who owned Sophia's on market street and his treats, breads and pizza are amazing. Micuccis is on India street.
