Montauk Suggestions Needed

Hello, I will be traveling for a couple weeks out to Montauk with my husband and 1 year old son and I'm looking for a few food suggestions. While we will have a sitter for a couple nights, most nights we will be looking for places that have great food but are also kid/family friendly. We are willing to go to the most casual or fancy of places in any price range...just want great suggestions. I've heard a bit about Harvest and Navy. To people that have been, are these places I could take my son or should we save them for the couple of babysitter nights? As well, I notice that Montauk now has a farmers market, is this worth checking out? Any other suggestions of where we can buy produce, fish, etc for at home dinners while we are out there? Thanks everyone!

  1. Ricks Crabby Cowboy is excellent for kids, and the food is very good although basic. Lots of room for the little ones to run around outside, and an ice cream bar for after. I don't think I would take him to Navy Beach, it's not that kind of place, although Harvest might not be as bad. Fish markets are at Gosmans and Perry Duryea, expensive but you won't go wrong. Also St Peters Catch right in town by the ball field, very nice. He has a little farm stand set up outside, and also makes great to go. You always have the IGA in town for everything else, pricy but decent quality on most items.
