Indonesian restaurant in Newton Centre?

Fifteen years ago I moved away from Boston. The weekend before I left I took my dad to an Indonesian restaurant in (I think) Newton Centre. It was close to a stop on the Green Line and it was a real Indonesia restaurant where the waiters spoke Bahasa - not a pan-Asian restaurant with a few Indonesian dishes. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of this place. It's probably closed by now, but I thought that maybe some of the Chowhound die hards might remember the name of the restaurant or have a recommendation for where else might have good Indonesian food.

Thanks for your help!

To my knowledge, there isn't one there now. I wish I had tried it when it was there!

It was in Newton Center, up the hill toward Brookline, and I can't remember the name either. If there's anything similar around now we'd love to know but I haven't heard of anything and a cursory search turned up nothing.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of it was called Semar - on Langley road next to the bridge that crosses over the trolley tracks. I never actually made it there before they closed, but I remember seeing it there. There's a Globe review of it from the Calendar section by Fiona Luis in the October 16, 1997 edition. (I found it by searching "Indonesian and Food and Newton" in the Globe archives. The short summary of the article is free and you can get the full text for a small fee - or free if you're a Globe subscriber I think.)

I'd also love to know if there's a good Indonesian place around here now - haven't heard of anything since.

Thank you all for your responses. I think it was Semar. I only wish I had discovered it sooner when I was in Boston. I'm hoping someone will see our posts and will bring Indonesian food back to Boston.
