I used to live in Chicago and a vendor used to get us the best toffee bark I've ever had. It was made by a small mom & pop candy store in the suburbs of Chicago. The problem is, I can't remember the name of the place and I can't find them on the net either..... Any ideas?

The best toffee I've had (as well as the best nut bark) is at Belgian Chocolatier Piron in Evanston, which is indeed a small family-owned/run artisanal chocolatier that has been there over 20 years, so that may be the place you're thinking of. They also have the best filled chocolates, truffles, etc you'll find anywhere.

But the biggest variety of different kinds of toffee, all of them good, is at Terry's Toffee, just northwest of downtown Chicago.
