great summer ice cream places in north Lake Tahoe area?
Hi - we're going to be staying in Incline Village for 5 days in the next week, and are looking for good places to find ice cream. Are there any good old time ice cream places in the area worth visiting? drive up, eat in, whatever. Would be nice to take the kid for ice cream a night or two.
I realize that an alpine area like tahoe might not have many ice cream places! :) it's cold at night even in the summer!
We will also be going to Reno one day probably, so anything in that area would work ok also.
Thanks!

Across the street from Mourelato's Lakeshore Resort (Tahoe Vista, CA) is a place called Mourelato's Ice Cream. They serve delicious ice cream cones and ice cream sundaes. They are made with Bud's Ice Cream from SanFrancisco. Go early! They run out of flavors later in the evening.

Head into Tahoe City if you want to drive that far from Incline and visit Tahoe City Chocolate in the Boatworks Mall (mini mall - very attractive really) for ice cream - a bit more of a specialty place than frozen yougurt. Tahoe unfortunately has long been a bit of a culinary wasteland.
I think taking the remote back road from Kings Beach to Truckee is a stunning drive and there are several ice cream places in Truckee which is a very nicely restored old town that makes a good half day trip from Incline. And of course, there is Ben and Jerry's in Squaw Valley.

Sorry to say there really isn't a fountain, that I'm aware of, in the area. There is a frozen yogurt spot in the Raley's shopping center and Susie's Scoopers on Tahoe Blvd. Chart-Pit in Kings Beach is a divey (but good) burger joint that serves shakes. That's all I know of. In Reno, there is a Swensen's on Kietzke Lane and a Johnny Rocket's inside the Grand Sierra. Oh, and Scoopers (a drive in) in Sparks. Good luck!
